Born on the Isle of Man and educated here until the age of 18, Claire's outlook to life was shaped by the openness of the countryside and the inspiring traa-dy-liooar attitude on the island. By 18 she decided to cast her net further and see a littler more of the world before making any decisions regarding her future.
After 4 years of alternating travel and work, Claire decided to move to London where she began her training at the London College of Fashion. Dressmaking had always been a hobby but Claire had never thought of it as a career. Claire completed a Diploma in Handcraft Tailoring where she learned the basic techniques of garment construction. This then led to a three year degree course in Bespoke Tailoring for womenswear after which she studied a Postgraduate Diploma in Pattern Cutting. She trained for 5 years in total and gained a thorough understanding of all elements of garment construction and pattern manipulation.
Claire returned to the Island with the view to start a small business and to carry on building upon the experience she gained at LCF. Now in her sixth year of business, Claire loves the diversity of challenges brought to her from clients old and new - from a simple turning up of a trouser hem to a full on bespoke wedding gown, no 2 days are the same!
